About the University
Study at Ascent College of Technology
Artificial intelligence is reshaping business—though not at the blistering pace many assume. True, AI is now guiding decisions on everything from crop harvests to bank loans, and once pie-in-the-sky prospects such as totally automated customer service are on the horizon. The technologies that enable AI, like development platforms and vast processing power and data storage, are advancing rapidly and becoming increasingly affordable. The time seems ripe for companies to capitalize on AI. It is estimated that AI will add $13 trillion to the global economy over the next decade (Source: Building the AI Powered organization, HBR, July- August 2019 issue). With the increasing pace of adoption, AI would become ubiquitous spreading across every aspect of business and touching our daily lives. Increased adoption of AI is likely to bring in security challenges. So for us at Ascent College, it made perfect sense that the next generation of labour force would be needed in the areas Artificial Intelligence for developing applications and as this AI based digital transformation takes shape, and this increased adoption would in parallel increase cyber security threats, requiring trained resources with expertise in Cybersecurity as well. The paradox is that AI would be used in Cybersecurity to protect organization from emerging threats.
